I'm heading to the "Bluehat" conference in Seattle as we speak. Currently sitting in the Atlanta airport. If you will be in Seattle from Sept 26-29 drop me an email/phone call.
Gadi Evron posted an interesting binary for public consumption on the Pen-Test mailing list. This .exe is an example binary for learning reverse engineering, testing fuzzers, and basic exploit development. I've been writing one of these exact same binaries for a while on and off (school owns me), but I think I might just shelf mine in favor of using this one for demonstration and learning purposes. Anyone want to be the first to take a crack and at finding and exploiting the vulnerabilities? Send in your write-ups and I'll post them for all to see.
WOW! This brings new meaning to the term identity theft. The ID card is valid for a term of two years and carries the photo of the animal as well as its owner. Information about the animal, such as "one horn missing or "half tail lost" are also included on the ID card. I think I'm going to have to pack up my high end color printer, my laminating machine, and head to India! I bet I can earn myself a lot of rupees printing fake IDs for cows... WOW
On an international front. It appears as if there is proof that Osama Bin Laden has been visiting his local "Hair Cuttery for Men With Megolomanical Urges". Click image for full story.

How the hell did that man (*cough jackass*) get the grey out of his beard! I need to make sure and order a double dose of the stuff since those damn grey strands are invading my face as we speak.
And last, but certainly not least, a very timely and funny post at the Matasano Chargen Blog. This entry goes over a topic that I'm currently studying in detail, password authentication. Most people claim they KNOW authentication, but you should really read this posting just to make sure you really do KNOW what you think you KNOW. It's sad how many broken authentication systems I run into each year. (*None of this is cutting edge, if anything it's a fun read from a relatively funny author*)
Continuing in the previous post's theme of computer room stupidity, here is a picture that scatman posted to me today. Make sure you click the image for a closer view. Read the note on the ladder for additional amusement. Obviously this is security related.. can you say availability issues! CLASSIC!
